Description

Join us for our next bus trip adventure as we head downeast!

We leave at 3PM from the Manchester, NH airport on our bus coach on June 4th, and head directly to Fanueil Hall downtown Boston for shopping and dinner.  (You get yourselves to the Manchester Airport…..fly in the day before and check out the area!  If you fly in that day, be sure that you are there for our 3PM bus pick up.)

We will stay at the Hyatt in Braintree for three days while we explore Boston and the historic sites around it.  Sunday the 5th we head to Plimouth Village, visit the Mayflower, and check out Plimouth Rock.  We will have a behind the scenes show with a museum curator and see their archives of Early American needle work, walk the village and see the costumed interpreters about their day to day work, and finish the day with a meal ‘Like a Pilgrim’.

On Monday, June 6th we head to downtown Boston where we will tour the USS Constitution, pick up our local Tour Guide for a driving tour of all the sites downtown, and then end up on the Swan Boats on the Charles River.

On Tuesday, June 7th we head to Salem, MA for a tour of the House of Seven Gables, then a show at the Witch Museum.  This port town is beautiful, and you’ll have lunch on your own before we get back on the bus and head to Belfast, ME for the night.

On Wednesday, June 8th, we take Coastal Route 1 along the rugged coast of Maine, viewing lighthouses,  with a stop at a small town on the ocean for lunch.  We end up in Bar Harbor, where we start our stay with a Lobster Bake.  We will stay for two nights at the Holiday Inn downtown Bar Harbor.

On Thursday, we head to Acadia National Park where the bus will take us around to Cadillac Mountain, the famous Thunder Hole and a coastal tour.  We stop at Jordan Pond for their gift shop and lunch on your own.  (You don’t want to miss the lobster bisque and popovers they are famous for!)  Once we are done, we head back to Bar Harbor for shopping and dinner on your own.  Enjoy the sites of beautiful Frenchman’s Bay, eat at a restaurant on the water, don’t forget the blueberry pie, then walk back to the hotel when you are good and ready!

On Friday, we start the day with a Whale Watch tour from the docks downtown Bar Harbor.  You will probably see some whales, you might even see a Humpback!  We leave right after lunch for a cross country drive into Conway, NH where we have dinner on your own and stay the night.

On Saturday, we take the Cog Railway to the top of Mt Washington to see the site of the most severe weather in the United States.  It’s a beautiful ride, and a neat place to visit with a great view!  (Take a jacket!)

We will catch lunch in Conway on your own, then head back to the Manchester, NH airport for drop off.  If you fly out the same day, please do not book your flights to leave any sooner than 5PM.  (You will gain an hour coming back to Chicago, it is a 2 hour flight.)

Total cost for this trip is $1899.  We require a non refundable $100 deposit to hold your seat.  This will fill fast!

We will make this easier to budget for by having three easy payments of $599.66, invoiced and collected month after you sign up, on the first of the month.
