Day 1-We leave LaSalle to head to Midway Airport for our flight to Albuquerque, NM.  Arrive in time for dinner on own near the hotel, and then rest up for the trip!

Day 2-We leave our hotel at 8:30AM to head to the Sandia Peak Tramway!  We will ride this to the 10,000 foot high mountain in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and spend the morning through lunch time exploring on our own at the top!  View a 11,000 square mile area with views of the Rio Grande Valley, eat at the restaurant up top, visit the gift shop, take a long or short hike along the trails.  We come aback down at 2PM, and then head to Old Town Albuquerque to experience the fascinating local pop up shops with native made goods, fantastic retail stores, and even more fantastic restaurants.  Head back to our hotel by 8PM.

Day 3-We head out fairly early to travel to Santa Fe, where we will take the Sip, Savor and History walking tour of the main part of town.  (Sample goods from several restaurants, breweries, wineries and more along the trip.)  We will have time in the main shopping area for dinner on your own, then we head to our hotel for the night.

Day 4-We leave the hotel at 8:30 to head to Bandelier National Monument, with time to discover the cliff dwellings and Kivas.  We then take the short trip to Los Alamos, where we stop for lunch on our own.  After lunch, we visit the Manhattan Project National Historic Site to learn all about what went on during World War 2 as we raced to the nuclear bomb.  We will then travel to Farmington, NM with a stop for dinner on your own near the hotel, and then off to get some rest.

Day 5-We leave at 8AM to head to the Four Corners!  Stand in four states at once, take pics to prove you did it!  (And there is a great view!)  We then travel into Colorado for a visit at Mesa Verde National Park, with a tour of the Cliff Palace.  (Soooooooo cool!)  We leave the park at 1 to drive into Utah to visit Arches National Park.  We will tour the park by bus with stops for short walks to see the sites.  We finish the day with dinner near our hotel in Richfield, UT.

Day 6-We leave the hotel at 7 to drive to Bryce Canyon National Park, and we tour the Bryce Amphitheater.  We will have lunch on our own at the lodge, time for the gift shop, and then we will be off to Zion National Park with a trip to the visitor Center and some opportunity to take short walks to see some sites in the park.  We will drive to the Grand Canyon tonight, with dinner on your own near the hotel.

Day 7-This is Grand Canyon Day!  We will use the Visitor Center as our drop off point, and you can then use the park shuttles to get to the South Rim, to the Grand Canyon Village, or back to the visitor center.  LOTS to do here…..explore as much as you’d like!  We leave at 5PM to travel a couple hours up the road for dinner on our own near the hotel for the night.

Day 8-We leave at 8AM to drive Route 66 up toward the Hoover Dam!  We will visit the Dam, learn all about it, and then finish our drive to Las Vegas!  Yup, Sin City is our destination for the night.  We plan to arrive by 3:30PM, and you will have the night free!  Book a Show, Book a Bucket List Restaurant, or just walk about and take in the sights of Las Vegas for the evening.  Get some sleep, though, as we head back to Illinois the next day.

Day 9-Drive to the Las Vegas Airport and fly back to Midway.

Included:  hotel double occupancy, private coach transportation ALL OVER the southwest, Sandia Peak Tram, Sip, Savor and History Tour in Santa Fe, all park and attraction admissions, and economy airfare from Chicago Midway.  (Call us for a quote for airfare from and back to another destination.)

As always, I include several additional planned stops in throughout the week, but you don’t find out about them until we are on the trip!  That way, if traffic, some sort of closure or other, or any other road block comes up….you don’t know that you missed anything!  If all goes smoothly, you get bonus destinations!

While we try VERY hard to stick to our itineraries, there are things beyond our control that will result in changes to scheduled times and sometimes places that we visit.  That is why we are leading the trip…..to handle all the the things that life sends our way so that you don’t have to!  For example:  if weather is impacting us, we will adapt to make the trip better for all.  If the bus driver get too close to daily hours because of traffic, construction, parking, etc delays, we will rearrange the day to ensure that we make it to our hotel safely.  If an attraction is experiencing a partial, or full shut down for whatever reason, we will find an alternate attraction to take its place.  Our itineraries are guides and we will change them as the needs require.
