Join us on our Fall 2024 8 Day Bus trip to visit many, many cool places in the Northeastern US! Our itinerary is as follows:
Day 1-We leave LaSalle at 8AM and head to Shipshewanna, IN where we will have a group dinner at Das Dutchman Essenhaus, then head to Yoder’s Department store and downtown Shipshewanna for shopping and relaxation. We then head to Toledo to stay overnight, with dinner near the hotel.
Day 2-We leave fairly early to get to the Ferry Dock to take the passenger ferry to Put In Bay, where we pick up golf carts to buzz around the island for a while! (Golf carts will be 4 people per cart.) Drive around and check out the scenery, go downtown and park in the golf cart parking so you can shop, enjoy some music, and eat your lunch! We take the ferry back just after lunch and then head to Marblehead Lighthouse for a visit. (This is a BEAUTIFUL lighthouse and grounds!) Take pics, climb the lighthouse steps to the top, visit the museum. We leave late afternoon to head to our hotel in Erie, PA, with dinner at the Cracker Barrel or other nearby restaurant.
Day 3-We leave our hotel fairly early to head to Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada**! View the Horseshoe Falls, take a ride on the Maid of the Mist, ride the Funicular, take a tour on the rotating tower restaurant or just hit all the tourist spots. The day is fee to enjoy! We leave in the later afternoon for a quick trip to Niagara on the Lake**, where we will stop in the restaurant district for dinner on your own at one of many great places along with time for you to walk along the shores of Lake Ontario’s beachfront. We stay overnight here.
Day 4-We leave early to head to Watkins Glen State Park where you will see some fantastic scenery in the bluffs and waterfalls. We then head to Watkins Glen town, where we will have a lake tour on the Seneca Legacy with a wine tasting from one of the many local wineries included in the afternoon. We stay at the Watkins Glen hotel, right on the lake for the night. Dinner on your own, with plenty of places within walking distance of the hotel.
Day 5-We leave a little later to head to the Curtiss Air Museum. Bi planes, motorcycles, Rolls Royce Silver Ghosts, and more await you in their exhibits! We leave to head to the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine and Steam Train in Pennsylvania for the afternoon. Tour the coal mine, take a ride on the steam train, enjoy the gift shop. We leave late afternoon to head to Hershey, Pennsylvania for dinner near the hotel and our overnight.
Day 6-We begin our day with the Hershey Chocolate World Tour! Take a little ride to see the history of Hershey Chocolates, taste some chocolate, visit the gift shop, eat lunch at the food court….all on campus at Hershey. We leave Hershey at 12:30 to head to Mill Run, PA where we will tour the famous Frank Lloyd Wright ‘Fallingwater’ house! Tour the grounds, check out the architecture, and just enjoy the views! We end up at our hotel on the outskirts of Pittsburgh that night for dinner on your own near our hotel.
Day 7-We head to Cleveland to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Lots of memorabilia and fun to be had! (Take home a cool souvenir!) We will also visit the West Side Market, an indoor market built in 1902 with all kinds of foods and things to be tried out and/or taken home! We leave late afternoon for our hotel in South Bend, IN with dinner on your own near the hotel.
Day 8-We head to St Joseph, MI for a visit to Silver Beach! We will eat at the Silver Beach Pizzeria, on our own….they don’t take groups! (The pizza here if FABULOUS….the views of Lake Michigan are great, too!) Once everyone has finished their meal, we hit the road to arrive back in LaSalle late afternoon.
**Our Canada visit will be subject to everyone on the bus having a valid passport, and international travel guidelines on the day we cross. If something comes up and we cannot cross, then we will switch the day to the American side of the Falls.
Included: hotel double occupancy, ferry ride to and golf cart rental in Put in Bay, Marblehead Lighthouse Museum admission, admission to Watkins Glen State Park, Seneca Lake Cruise and winery visit, admission to the Curtiss Museum and the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine and Steam Train**, admission to Falling Water, admission to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, lunch at Das Dutchman Essenhaus, and transportation.
While we try VERY hard to stick to our itineraries, there are things beyond our control that will result in changes to scheduled times and sometimes places that we visit. That is why we are leading the trip…..to handle all the the things that life sends our way so that you don’t have to! For example: if weather is impacting us, we will adapt to make the trip better for all. If the bus driver get too close to daily hours because of traffic, construction, parking, etc delays, we will rearrange the day to ensure that we make it to our hotel safely. If an attraction is experiencing a partial, or full shut down for whatever reason, we will find an alternate attraction to take its place. Our itineraries are guides and we will change them as the needs require.
Deposit is now $1200 per person on this one. Single supplements available, email or call for details. You will be invoiced on August 1st for your final $600 installment. Total cost for the trip is $1800. Deposits refundable if you must cancel until February 1st, 2024. Deposits and payments after February 1st, 2024 are non refundable unless your seat is filled by another traveler. Credit Card Payments eligible for refund will be refunded to your choice of the credit card minus a 5% credit card fee, or in full to a QITV Gift Card. Cash payments eligible for refund will be refunded in full by check.
