Day 1-We leave LaSalle to head to Port Dover, Canada. This day is intended to get miles under our belt. We will plan on traveling all day, with stops for breaks every two hours.
Day 2-We leave our hotel at 8AM to head to eh Port Dover Lighthouse, then to do some shopping and lunch on our own in the historic town on the north shores of Lake Erie. We then head towards Kingston, Canada for the evening. Dinner on your own near the hotel.
Day 3-We leave the hotel at 8AM to visit Fort Henry in Kingston. This is a National Park with costumed interpreters and lots of history we share with the Canadians around the War of 1812. We then drive to Montreal for a city tour, then on to Quebec for the evening. Dinner on tour own near the hotel.
Day 4-We leave our hotel at 9AM to visit Old Town Quebec, a World Heritage Site! Lots of neat architecture, shops, and fun things to see. Lunch on your own in town, then we drive to see Montmorency Falls on the outskirts of the city. We drive to Edmunston, New Brunswick for the evening, with dinner on your own near the hotel.
Day 5-We drive the Bay of Fundy Coastline to see the Bay, where the world’s highest tides come in and out twice a day! Check out the literal bottom of the ocean floor, then we head on to the Confederation Bridge for our crossing to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. (The bridge is an engineering marvel…..you will hold your breath for a while as we cross it, but it is loooooooooong!) We will stop for lunch on your own along the coastline this day, and then dinner is on your own near the hotel that evening.
Day 6-We visit the Anne of Green Gables sites on Prince Edward Island in the morning, then we drive to Halifax, Novia Scotia with a stop at Peggy’s Cove lighthouse along the way. We will visit the Maritime Museum in Halifax, and then have time for dinner on your own along the famous Boardwalk that night.
Day 7-We drive our bus right onto the CAT Ferry from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to Bar Harbor, Maine this morning! Once we get to Bar Harbor, you will have time to explore this neat town on Frenchman’s Bay before we head to Kennebunkport, Maine for our overnight. (Save some room for lobstah rolls! The world’s best Lobster Shack is in Kennebunkport, as per Time Magazine!) Lunch on your own in Bar Harbor, dinner on your own in Kennebunkport.
Day 8-We drive to Salem, Mass for a walking tour of the history of the beautiful coast town. (Witches everywhere!) Lunch on your own, then we head towards Rochester, NY for our evening stop. Dinner on your own near the hotel.
Day 9-We tour the Eastman House Museum….and learn all about the history of Eastman/Kodak photography and see the grounds and house. We drive to Mishawaka, IN for the evening. Lunch on your own in Rochester, then dinner on your own near the hotel in Mishawaka. (Lots to choose from there!!!)
Day 10-We take a leisurely 3 hour drive back home to arrive in La Salle between 1-2PM.
Included: hotel double occupancy, private coach transportation ALL THE WAY ACROSS CANADA, admission to all attractions/museums that we visit, High Speed CAT Ferry ride to Bar Harbor, Walking Tour in Salem, and lots and lots of beauty along the east coast!
As always, I include several additional planned stops in throughout the week, but you don’t find out about them until we are on the trip! That way, if traffic, some sort of closure or other, or any other road block comes up….you don’t know that you missed anything! If all goes smoothly, you get bonus destinations!
While we try VERY hard to stick to our itineraries, there are things beyond our control that will result in changes to scheduled times and sometimes places that we visit. That is why we are leading the trip…..to handle all the the things that life sends our way so that you don’t have to! For example: if weather is impacting us, we will adapt to make the trip better for all. If the bus driver get too close to daily hours because of traffic, construction, parking, etc delays, we will rearrange the day to ensure that we make it to our hotel safely. If an attraction is experiencing a partial, or full shut down for whatever reason, we will find an alternate attraction to take its place. Our itineraries are guides and we will change them as the needs require.
This trip is coming up shortly, so this one will be done in three payments. If you sign up in October, your payments are: October, January, and April. If you sign up in November, your payments are: November, February, and May. If you sign up in December, your payments are: December, March, and June. If you sign up in January, your payments are January, March, and May. If you sign up in February, your payments are February, April, and June. If you sign up in March, your payments are March, April, May. If you sign up in April, your payments are April, May, June. If you sign up in May or beyond, the full amount is due at sign up.
Single supplements available, email or call for details. Total cost for the trip is $2499. Deposits refundable if you must cancel until May 1st, 2025. Deposits and payments after May 1st, 2025 are non refundable unless your seat is filled by another traveler. Credit Card Payments eligible for refund will be refunded to your choice of the credit card minus a 5% credit card fee, or in full to a QITV Gift Card. Cash payments eligible for refund will be refunded in full by check.
